ALBA, Texas— Services for Curtis Don Chaney, age 49, Alba, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday in Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Alba, Texas, with the Rev. William Potts and Delton Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery near Alba, Texas. Mr. Curtis Don Chaney, known as Don Chaney by all, died on Wednesday, February 6, 1991, in a Quitman, Texas, nursing home after a lengthy illness. Curtis Don Chaney was born on March 17, 1941, in Alba, Texas, to Hiram Curtis Chaney and Sarah Lucille McCook Chaney. Don Chaney was a lifelong resident of Alba, Texas, until needing additional care and moved to the Quitman, Texas, nursing home. He had worked for Trane Co. in Tyler, Texas. Don Chaney was preceded in death by his father, Hiram "Curtis" Chaney, in 1982. Survivors include his wife, Mary Chaney, Alba; mother, Sarah "Lucille" McCook Chaney, Alba; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bobby Chaney and Annette Chaney, Johnny Chaney and Cheryl Chaney, and Tommy Chaney, all of Alba; a brother, Jimmy Chaney, Arlington; two grandchildren, Ashley and Jarren Chaney, both of Alba. Pallbearers include Bobby Chaney, Johnny Chaney, Tommy Chaney, and Jimmy Chaney, Joyce Clements, and Jackie Parritt.
