Funeral services for Molly R. Zapalac, 80, of Houston (formerly of Sealy) were held Tuesday, January 5, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy with Rev. Tom Sheeny and Rev. Jesse Linam concelebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. The parish rosary-wake service was held Monday, January 4 at 7:30 p.m. from the Knesek Bros./Etlinger Funeral Chapel in Sealy. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Wesley Hundl, Michael Zapalac, Henry Zapalac, Jr. James Zapalac, Joe Hundl and David Sliva. Miss Zapalac was born on August 30, 1912 in Sealy to parents John F. and Amalia Bohac Zapalac. She was raised in the Sealy-Mixville area attending school at Mixville Public School. She later moved to Houston where she was an inspector for the Magnolia Paper Company for 27 years. Miss Zapalac was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Houston. She died Saturday, January 2 in a Houston hospital. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Hank Baca of Houston; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Zapalac of Sealy and Tekla Zapalac of Sealy and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents John F. and Amalia Zapalac, sisters, Julia Domorad, Ludmilla Zahradnick and Matilda Svec, and brothers, Henry Zapalac, Ed Zapalac, John Zapalac, Martin Zapalac, Willie R. Zapalac and Roman Zapalac. Funeral services were held under the direction of the Knesek Bros./Etlinger Funeral Chapel of Sealy.
