Horton Commercial (Horton, Kansas) 04 Feb 1892, Thu, p5 Mrs. Elizabeth Winterscheidt, wife of Peter Winterscheidt, Sr., died suddenly at her home, northwest of this city, Monday, February 1st, 1892, at 6 o'clock pm, of la grippe. Deceased was born at Rosdorff, Germany April 7th, 1816 and was aged 75 years and ten months at the time of her death. She came to America in 1852, and settled in Putnam county, Illinois, where she resided 28 years. She afterwards came to Brown county with her husband in 1870, and has resided here ever since. She was a member of the Catholic church since childhood, and died in the same faith she lived. Her aged husband, four sons, and many grandchildren remain to mourn her loss. Funeral was held Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic church. Thus Brown county loses another of her old and respected citizens.
