Daughter of Joseph and Mary (Drozd) Ziemba. She married Sylvester F. Bernt on April 29, 1946 at St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan. The couple farmed in the Duncan area until moving to Columbus in 1958. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing yard work. Leona was a member of St. Bonaventure Church.
