Richard John Korenek son of Martin and Anna Korenek.Richard John Korenek married Adela Pavlu on November 8,1938,his wife of 46 years.They were blessed with 11 children. Richard was engaged in rice farming.He enjoyed hunting,being outdoors working and admiring nature. Richard was a member of St.Mary's Catholic Church in Nada,Texas and a member of the K.J.T. Society and served as president for many years. Funeral services were held for Richard Korenek,69,Monday April 8,1985 at 10:00 a.m. St.Mary's Catholic Church in Nada. Monsignor Victor Schmidzinsky was the main celebrant,co-celebrants were Father Ed Schoellmann,Rev.Henry Rachunek and Bishop Heigo Gerbermann. Father Ed Schoellmann preached the Homily.Grandson John Lee Korenek Jr. was the service lector.Grandchildren Renae Y. Merta,Martin Korenek,Linda Korenek and Sandra Korenek carried the offertory gifts.Alter servers were grandsons Keith Korenek,Tom Gold and Duane Korenek. The Nada Choir sang the High Mass.Organist was Mrs.Clarence Martin. A family and K.J.T. Society rosary was said prior to the Mass. On Easter Sunday evening a parish rosary was held followed by Mass.Edward Korenek a nephew served as lector and Eucharistic Minister. A tribute to Richard Korenek Sr. written by a family member was read at the service by a niece,Sister Odelia Korenek. Pallbearers were nephews Clarence Eggemeyer,Rudy Drlik Jr.,Raymond Korenek,Edward Korenek,Joe Korenek and Eugene Korenek.
