Bio

Duane L. Henrichson, age 76 of Ceresco, NE, died May 16, 2010 at the Saunders County Care Center in Wahoo. Duane was born in Wahoo, NE on Dec. 22, 1933 to James and Ileta (Beaman) Henrichson. He grew up near Weston and attended Weston Public School through eleventh grade. At that time, they moved to rural Ceresco and Duane graduated from Ceresco High School in 1951. He entered the US Navy on Febr. 4, 1952 and served until being honorably discharged on Febr. 3, 1956. One week later, he met Mary Kozisek, and they were married Febr. 14, 1957 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bruno. They lived on their farm northwest of Ceresco while Duane worked as a farm hand initially. He was soon farming on his own raising grain and livestock. He was actively farming until just last year when his health began to fail. Duane also kept busy with the restoration of many cars, trucks and tractors. Duane was a parishioner at St. Marys Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Council #8625. He served on the Ceresco Farmers Union Coop Board and the Ceresco Rural Fire District Board since 1974, was a member of Raymond Central FFA Alumni where he was the treasurer the last 30 years, was a life member of the State and National FFA Alumni Association, member, Saunders County Soybean Association, Nebraska Sorghum Producers and a member of the American Legion Post #244. Duane is survived by wife Mary, Ceresco, children and spouses, Dean and Nancy Henrichson, Weston, NE, Susan and David Miller, Lincoln, NE, Greg "Henry" Henrichson, Ceresco, Julie Henrichson, Lincoln, Kevin Henrichson, Ceresco, Amy and Joel Moline, Omaha, NE; granddaughter Alexis Hobbs, Omaha; step grandchildren, Beth, Bobby, Derek and Stephanie; step great grandchildren; brothers, Willis (Rose) Henrichson, Ceresco, Merlin (Mary) Henrichson, Lincoln, Jimmy Henrichson, Omaha; many nieces and nephews; brothers in law, Joe (Marie) Kozisek, David City, NE, Fred (Norma) Kozisek, Lee Summitt, MO. Preceded in death by parents, James and Ileta (Beaman) Henrichson.
