OBITUARY: The Franklin Sun, Winnsboro LA, 27 Apr 1988 Funeral services for Ethel Irie Bacle Carter, 70, of Crowville, were held at 2 p.m., April 21, in the Lone Pine Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.T. Smith and the Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Interment was in South Central Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. A native of Bakin, she was born April 23, 1917. She was a retired housewife and a veteran of World War II. She died on April 19, 1988. Survivors include one son, William Lamar Carter Jr., Camberley, England; one daughter, Louanne May, Kilbourne; five grandchildren, Cindie, Jeff, James, Bobby May and Bill Carter III; four brothers, Thomas Bacle, Crowville, Homer Bacle and Walter Bacle Jr., both of Winnsboro and N.S. Bacle, Jigger; one sister, Maebelle Lee, Pascagoula, Miss.; and host a nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Nick Stephens, Keith Murray, Ronnie Busby, Gary Bacle, Dwain Tharpe, Tommy Hill. Honorary pallbearers were Travis Ferris, Charles Bacle and Amos Bond. Thank You to Doug McBroom for the obituary.
