Eunice Altoga Evans, 96, of Bowie, TX passed away December 13, 2004 at the Bowie Nursing Center. Mrs. Evans was born April 28, 1908 in Celeste, TX. She married Leon Evans on August 9, 1930 in Waurika, OK. She was a homemaker and owner of an alteration business and Merle Norman Cosmetics. She was a member of the Baptist faith, past member of Business and Professional Club and Bowie Chamber of Commerce. Surviving relatives include three sisters, Ruth Wright, Bowie, TX, Naomi Young, Nashville, TX and Billie Jean Brigham, Red Oak, TX; one brother, Weldon Wright, Archer City, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Evans in 1982; one daughter, Nelda Fay Evans in 1940; two sisters, Letta Paregien and Robbie Wright; three brothers, Marion H. Wright Dodson Wright and P.L. Wright, Jr. Funeral services for Mrs. Evans were held Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with Rev. Paul Henderson, Pastor Emeritus and Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
