Bio

Mary C. Hansen, 73, of 1011 W. 21st st. died Tuesday afternoon at the local hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days. Born in Elba, she was a school teacher in Howard County and farmed north of Litchfield with her husband, Edison, for 27 years before moving to Kearney in 1969. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors are her husband, Edison E. of Kearney; a son, Russell, of Kearney; four sisters, Eleonora Jorgensen of Farwell, Ida Lassen of Omaha, Lillie Blanchard of Grand Island and Mabel Christensen of St. Paul; four brothers, Henry, Howard and Edward Lassen, all of Elba, and James P. Lassen of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by an infant son. Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Horner-Lieske Mortuary with the Rev. Carl W. Brueggeman officiating and burial in the Litchfield Cemetery.
