THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, March 13, 2000, page 8A: “Charlie Lee Pomroy Jr., 71, of Paris, went to join the Lord with his Mother and Father Friday, March 10, 2000, at his home. Gene Roden’s Sons Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Pattonville to Charlie Lee Pomroy Sr. and Martha Viola Holt Pomroy. He had served in the Navy and the Air Force. He was a member of World Wide Church of God and was a retired manager of the Grand Theatre. Surviving are sons, Rance, Keith and Russ Pomroy, all of Paris; a daughter, Vickie Pomroy of Dallas; sisters, Ruby Floyd, Audie Stockett and Ruth Zeitman, all of Dallas, Dean Zinger of Michigan, and Mary Joyce Barber of Houston; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Lee Frazier, and a brother, Billy Joe Pomroy. The family requests donations be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or the American Cancer Society.” Military marker is affixed to center of the stone for Charlie Lee and Martha Pomroy.
