Tuesday Services For W.E. Varnell Tuesday at 4 p.m. funeral services for William Edward Varnell, 66, are scheduled at his home, 106 8th Avenue NW. Mr. Varnell, a retired Star mail route carrier, died Sunday at 3:15 p.m. at Decatur General Hospital where he had been a patient for three days. He was a carrier for 20 years. Body is to be returned to the residence late today and services Tuesday are to be conducted by the Rev. a.B. VanArsdale and the Rev. Lemay. Interment is City Cemetery is to be directed by Brown. Deceased, a native of Tennessee, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Varnell; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Lang, Decatur; two sons, William and Willard, both of Hartselle; three sisters, Mrs. W.A. Wilbanks, Florence; Mrs. Viola Tuten, Rogersville 3; Mrs. Eugene McCafferty, Birmingham; one brother, Arthur Varnell, Detroit, Mich; and four grandchildren. DECATUR DAILY - May 30, 1955
