He was married to Virginia Eloise Gipson Miller. Together they had seven children: Jessie Verna, Dannie (fem), Charles Francis Corbett, Claud Hale, Roy Robert, Vannie Veona, Lola Ray Miller. He served in the Civil War on the Confederate side. The family had been in Oak Forest at the time of his death.
