Bio

Wilmer R. Bailey, 87, of 1748 E. Lincoln Ave. died 12 20 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 13, 1983) in Danville Veterans Administration Hospital. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, with visitation 6:30 to 8 p m Tuesday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Mr. Bailey was born in Mount Auburn, son of Christopher and Laura Bell Bailey. He was retired from Lyman Grain Co, in Harristown, a member of West King Street Church of Christ and a World War I veteran. He married Pearl Waddell in 1921. She died in 1971. He married Madelyn L Shearer in 1973. Surviving are his wife; sons. W. Ray Jr. and Roger, both of Decatur: daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Elvera) Wyne of Decatur; stepson. Larry L. Shearer of Decatur; stepdaughter. Mary Lou Pock of Decatur; sister. Ruby Olliver of Harristown, 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
