Bio

Alvin was the son of Bud and Julia Lockaby Baker. After graduating from Scurry Rosser High School in 1952, he attended Henderson County Junior College, now Trinity Valley Community College. He served in the US Army, was a licensed pilot and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Scurry. He spent his entire career in the carpet business. After retiring in 1998, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking in his shop. On January 18, 1957 he married Patsy Covington. His parents and his wife of 46 years preceded him in death.
