Husband of Leona May (Ades)Nickels, celebrated their 50th anniversary, June 17th 1986. Father to Barbara Anne (Nickels), Marilyn Jean (Nickels) Reutgen Ballinger, Patricia Lenora (Nickels) Bare Miller. Loving Grandfather to: Debbie (Ekstrand) Gilb, Brenda (Ekstrand) Rauch, DiAnna (Bare) Tefft, James Reutgen, Brian Ekstrand, Susan (Bare) Dunow, Athena (Reutgen) Long Hughes, Linda (Ekstrand) Rhoades. Loving Great-Grandfather of: Nicole (Ekstrand) Boza, Jarred Tefft, Decoda Long, Melissa Ekstrand, Jamie Tefft, Jonathan Reutgen, Allura Hughes, Lathan Hughes,Hannah Gilb, Riley Dunow, Westley Dunow, Ariel Rhoades and Hunter Rhoades . Loving and caring Great Great Grandfather of Precious Melee' Anne Ekstrand-Boza. Several sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. Ben was born in Oklahoma and made his way out to California, where he met and married Leona. He dropped out of school at an early age, but became a Pomona Police officer. He also worked at the LA County Fair as general manager. Known for his love of family and his horses, he prided himself on his work. He enjoyed carpentry and was often seen with one or many of his grandchildren.On Christmas Day 1986, he went home to his Lord Jesus Christ, and became an angel to build cabinets for the angels to hang their wings. Grandpa, we miss you and you'll always be in our hearts...
