Bio

May 18, 1967--Phillips County Review--Phillipsburg, KS Alfred John Willis, son of George Alfred Willis and Alice Wyrill Willis, was born September 26, 1903, and lived his entire life in Phillips County. He was united in marriage to Erma Lala May 17, 1930. He was preceded in death by his father in 1929 and a brother, Alan, who died as a young boy, age 16 years. Survivors are his wife, Erma, his mother, Alice Willis, one son, Richard, and his wife, Virginia, two daughters, Mary Ellen and husband, Jerry Boland; Leonore and husband Dight House; 5 grandchildren, Roger and Rodney Boland, and Martha, Thomas and Jennifer House. Memorial services were held at the Simmons Chapel in Kensington Friday May 12 with Rev. J. C. Daniel in charge. Music was furnished by Beryl Plymesser and Mildred Lemon with Marie Stockman accompanist. Casketbearers were Wes Kitchen, Warren Plymesser, John Marple, William W. McDermed, Hubert Bogart and Carl K. Rodgers. Interment was in the Kirwin Cemetery.
