THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 03, 2005: 'Jean Diggs, 74, of Abilene, formerly of Paris, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Windcrest Center in Abilene. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial follows in Meadowbrook Gardens. She was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Lamar County. She graduated from Central High School and married Gordon Earl Diggs on Oct. 8, 1948, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was a member of East Paris Baptist Church. She participated in many shows and exhibitions with her ceramics and was an excellent seamstress, having made draperies. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 30, 1991; and her mother, Alma Tharp Weeks. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Diggs of Richardson and Jina Strohl and husband, Don, of Abilene; nine grandchildren; a great aunt, Geraldine Cole of Clovis, N.M.; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.' Location has not been verified; it is assumed she is buried beside her husband.
