Paris News Mon. Sept. 23, 1957 Pg. 8 William Roy Weeks, 55, merchant at Sumner and formerly a farmer there, died Monday about 8:40 a.m. in a Paris hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Emberson Baptist Church by the Rev. Louis Ricketson, Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home to make burial in Meadowbrook cemetery east of Paris. Born in Dallas County, August 26, 1902, Mr. Weeks was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Weeks. He had lived in Lamar County since he was five years old, and was a member of Emberson Baptist Church and of the Odd Fellows lodge. After the death of his first wife, the former Miss Alma Tharp, he married Mrs. Evie Staggs in December of 1955. She survives, besides these children by his first wife: Mrs. Ruby Nunley, Colbert, Okla.; Mrs. G. E. Diggs, Rt. 2, Paris and Aaron Weeks, Rt. 1, Sumner; five grandchildren, and two stepsons, Charles Staggs and Teddy Staggs, Rt. 1, Sumner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
