Bio
Son of Henry F. and Lucy W. Augustin. He attended school in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High School in 1950. On April 17, 1951, he was united in marriage to Elnora Rose Heimer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. To this union four children were born. Norval joined the U.S. Army in December 1952 and served in Korea until December 1954. After returning from the service Norval raised cattle and farmed. In the 1970s he operated a trucking company named A & A Trucking. His wife Elnora passed away Feb. 21, 2001. Norval moved to the Osceola Good Samaritan Society January 19, 2005, where he resided until his passing. He was a member of the Shelby Legion Post #296, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, boating, camping, drinking Pepsi and driving around in his pickup. Survivors include three sons, Rocky (Deb) Augustin, of Osceola, Kirtus (Lori) Augustin, of Osceola, and Scott (Sharon) Augustin, of Shelby; one daughter, Pam (Don) Shorney, of Columbus; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora; and his parents, Henry and Lucy.
