Lois M. Glenn, 90 of Gering, Neb., passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 31. Her funeral service will be held Monday, April 5, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Gering with Pastor Lauren Ekdahl officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill, Neb. Visitation will be Saturday from 1-6 p.m. at Gering Memorial Chapel. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Lois was born Dec. 9, 1919, to William E. and Eva (Whitmore) Hess at Morrill, Neb. She grew up in the Henry, Neb., area, where she attended school and graduated from Morrill High School and graduated as a registered nurse from West Nebraska Methodist Hospital School of Nursing at Scottsbluff. She worked as an office nurse for Dr. L. H. Dunham in Scottsbluff for three years during World War II. Sept. 16, 1945, she married Scott L. Glenn at her parent's home in Scottsbluff. She lived in Henry for 20 years, where she enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. In 1965, she moved to Torrington where she worked for the Torrington Medical Group for 21 years, from 1965 to 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. While in Henry, she was President of W.S.C.S. and served as Children's Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. She was a member of the church choir at Torrington for many years and held offices in U.M.W. She is listed in "Who's Who of the United Methodist Church" and also in "Who's Who of American Women." She was a member of PEO Chapter M of Torrington and later Chapter EV in Gering. In Torrington, she was a member of the board for Golden Manor and Golden Homes. She moved to Gering in October 1995. She is survived by son Gary and Jayne Glenn of Australia; daughter Linda and Ted Weiland of Gering and four grandchildren Katie, Derek, Amy and Jared all who she loved very much; sister Frances Richards of Scottsbluff, brother-in-law Oak Glenn of Doniphan, Neb., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Scott, her parents and brothers Mervin and Bernard Hess.
