Daughter of Daniel Baker and Frances Workman McNeel. Muriel grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School in 1933. She went to Beauty School and was a beautician and owned her own shop in her home. She married Mel Brott in 1935, to this union 2 sons, Mike and Rex were born. The couple lived in North Platte where she operated her beauty shop. In 1964 they moved to Kearney where she had a yarn shop. They settled back in North Platte where she worked at Ben Franklin. Mel preceded her in death in 1976. After Mel's death, she moved to Oregon for 15 years, and moved back to North Platte in 2001. Muriel loved to knit and crochet and taught classes in both. She enjoyed sharing her beautifully finished items with so many. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends; reading; and crafts. Family memories were important to her and enjoyed sharing them. Survivors include son, Rex (Sue) Brott of Stapleton; daughter-in-law, Norma Brott of McMinnville, Oregon; sisters, Wilma (Ken) Strawder of Wallace and Betty Elliott of Broomfield, Co; sister-in-law Gwen McNeel of North Platte and Loretta Keith also of North Platte ; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her son, Mike; 2 sisters, Lucille and Evelyn; 3 brothers, Bob, Harold and Everet. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name to Juliette's House, Child Abuse Intervention Center ,
