Lue James Allan Jr., 60, of Scotia, formerly of Wood River, died Friday, April 9, 2010, in Grand Island. Mr. Allan was born April 18, 1949, in Grand Island to Lue James, Sr. and Clara (Nielson) Allan. He married Margaret Krejci Aug. 6, 1971 in Wood River. He and Margaret were divorced in 2005. Survivors of the immediate family include his former wife; sons and daughters-in-law, Lue J. and Charity Allan III of Kearney and Lyle and Marcia Allan of Elwood; six grandchildren; brother, John H. Allan of Kearney; and sisters, Merna Wold of Dannebrog and Mickie Langdon of Grants Pass, Ore. NS.; uncle and aunt, Dick and Ollie Hanson of Scotia as well as a host of friends and relatives. He grew up on a farm near Wood River and received his education at Wood River High School. He entered the U.S. Army Oct. 23, 1968. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged July 21, 1970. After marriage, the couple lived on a farm near Wood River, where he farmed. He also lived in Grand Island and most recently in Scotia. He worked at Eaton's in Kearney and was self-employed. He was a member of the Wood River Methodist Church.
