Info from Find A Grave contributor Sue Lilley THE LAMPASAS LEADER FRIDAY, MAY 22 1908 Mrs. Jim Smith died Sunday at 10 o'clock after an extended illness, having survived her husband only six years, Mr. Smith having died April 8, 1902. The deceased was 69 years of age and leaves six sons and a daughter to grieve for her. Her children are: Messrs. Jack, Babe, Lon, Oz, Dolph and Elzy Smith and Mrs. Laura Simms. Rev. Sessions conducted the services at the city home when the body was taken by relatives to Oakalla for burial, where Rev. LS. Chamberlain performed the last sad rites. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist church, a loving mother and a kind firend, and will be greatly missed from her community.
