James Lynn Mayes, age 77 of Frisco, Texas passed away on July 8, 2009 in Frisco. He was born on December 11, 1931 in Murphy, Texas to G.B. and Georgia Lou (Gant) Mayes. Jimmy married Bertha Penland on May 25, 1951 in Plano, Texas. He was a Mechanic in the Aviation Industry. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Bertha "MiMi" Mayes of Frisco, Texas; children, Dana Mayes of Frisco, Texas, Jill Benefield; granddaughter – adopted daughter, Amanda Woodard and her husband, Aaron of Alvarado, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew and Brandy Mayes, James and Jana Benefield, Brandi Benefield; great-grandchildren, Pat Smith, Thomas M. Mayes II, Brett Oakley Mayes, Brynnlee Mayes, McKynnlee Mayes; brother, A.J. Mayes of Plano, Texas and several nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his son, Anderson Lynn Mayes; grandson, Thomas Micah Mayes; parents; three sisters and two brothers. The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas.
