FRITCH - Velma Marie Summers, 65, died Friday, April 30, 1993 in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 3, 1993 at the Assembly of God Church in Fritch with the Rev. Darrell Trout, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. A native of Memphis, Texas, she had been a Fritch resident for 47 years. She was a housewife, and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Fritch. She was preceded in death by her father Earl Gilchrest. Survivors include her husband, I.W. of the home; four sons, Larry David Summers of Stinnett; Tracey Jay Summers of Plainview; Terry Wayne Summers of Denver City, Herlin Royce Summers of Springdale, Ark.; three daughters, Brenda Lou Mongold, Cynthia Ann Drake, and Shelia Renee Taylor, all of Fritch; her mother, Velma Gilchrest of Hedley; two brothers, Otis Gilchrest of Memphis; and Junior Gilchrest of Hedley; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roland Ledford, Barney Fish, Claude Collins, John Flores, Roy Buchanan.
