John Tate Shaver was the son of Samuel Lafayette Shaver and Mary M. Mathis Shaver. Mary M. Mathis Shaver died 6 Nov 1875 in Rhea County, but it is not known where she is buried. It is possible she is buried in one of the many unmarked graves in this cemetery. John Tate and Mary Mathis Shaver had three children: Cornelius A, Thomas F. and John Tate.
