Uphoff Dies Today in Omaha Hospital Fredrick Henry Uphoff, 68 died today at 3:15 a.m. in an Omaha hospital. He had become ill Friday and was taken to Omaha Monday. Uphoff was the former owner of the Uphoff Hide and Fur company of North Platte. Born Aug 2, 1883, in Prairie Town, Ill., Uphoff homesteaded 13 miles north of Stapleton in 1914. He moved to a farm seven miles northwest of North Platte on the Tryon road. In 1937, he moved to North Platte where he opened his business. He resided at 1108 East 5th. Surviving are his widow, Alice; one son, Fredrick A. of Topeka, Kans., two daughters, Joyce of Lincoln and Lorna of North Platte, and three brothers; Henry of Stapleton, William of Moline, Ill., and Herman of North Platte.
