James K. "Jim" Zavodny, 23, of Lincoln, formerly of Wahoo, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, in Lincoln. He was born March 27, 1978, in Omaha. He attended grade school at St. Pius X in Omaha and junior high at Louis & Clark Middle School. He moved to Wahoo with his father and graduated from Wahoo High School in 1996. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and graduated in the spring of 2001 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. He worked at Community Alternatives in Lincoln where he cared for the disabled and handicapped. Survivors include: his father, David Zavodny of Wahoo; his mother and spouse, Karen and Randy Brungardt of Branson, Mo.; a grandmother, Libbie Zavodny of Wahoo; grandparents, Ardell and Jan Eiben of Omaha; a stepbrother, Randy Brungardt, Jr. of Omaha and a stepsister, Trina Brungardt of Omaha. He was preceded in death by a grandfather. The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church in Wahoo. The Rev. Todd Storm will officiate. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to service time at the church.
