Henry J. Popp Of Abbott Dies Henry J. Popp, 75, of Abbott died Wednesday morning in a West hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at West Brethren Church, Rev. Henry Beseda officiating. Burial followed in West Brethren Cemetery. Mr. Popp was a native and lifelong resident of Abbott. He married Bessie Lastovica on Nov. 20, 1927, in West. He was a retired farmer and a member of West Brethren Church where he was a past secretary of the Sunday School. He was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 54 of West and of RVOS No. 45, in which he was an appraiser for 24 years. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ernest Popp of Temple, Dan Popp of Arlington and Henry John Popp of Commerce; five daughters, Mrs. John (Anne) Emory of West, Mrs. Bill (Naomi) Scott of Ross, Mrs. John (Bess) Jez of Temple and Miss Linda Barber and Miss Lana Popp, both of Houston; a brother, Emil Popp of West; two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Barton and Mrs. Hermina Marek, both of Abbott; 19 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers: Edwin Husak, John Husak, Joe John Barton, Raymond Barton, Kenneth Taylor and Walter Marek. The family requests memorials be in the form of donations to West Community Hospital or West Brethren Church. Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
