Bio

Wayne G. Kuhl, 62, of Taylor died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Manor Oaks in Rockdale. Family visitation 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Life service 2 pm, Wednesday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at Wuthrich Hill with Rev. Steve Best officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Wayne Garlan Kuhl was born on May 10, 1941 to Henry and Clarice (Meyer) Kuhl in Taylor, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of the Taylor area. Wayne graduated from Hutto High School and served in the US Navy from 1963-67. He received several medals for his tour of duty in Vietnam. He married Barbara Beckermann on May 5, 1973 at St. John Lutheran Church in Thrall, Texas. Wayne worked for BABECO for more than 20 years as a machinist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and raised many vegetables in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kuhl of Taylor; a son, Brian Kuhl and wife, Shari of Thorndale; a daughter, Tracy Houghtaling and husband, John of Thrall; one brother, Floyd Kuhl and wife, Viola of Taylor; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Malinda, and Andrew Houghtaling and Hunter, Mason and Kaelin Kuhl; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Bennie Tomacek, Dennis Minzenmeyer, A.W. Meyer, Barney Smith, Jeff Berger, and Glen Buchhorn. Memorials may be given to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, P.O.
