Obituary: Jerry Otis Ward From: Sullivan Funeral Home October 2009 Jerry Otis Ward, loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, was born on December 10, 1933 in Pinehill Community, TX to Otis and Lorene "Ma" (Sharp) Ward and passed away on October 10, 2009 in Longview, TX. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Turrentine Ward; daughter, Shari Brock and husband Don; grandchildren, Robbie Brock and wife Connie, Nicki Bidwell and husband Jason,; Scott Ward, Stephen Ward, and Samantha Ward; great-grandchildren, Baylor Ward, Landon Brock, Rylee Payne; sisters, Loretta Ward and Vara Joyner; daughter-in-law, Suzie Ward; and many friends who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Lorene "Ma" Ward; son, Kevin Ward; and grandson, Jeremy Brock. Jerry was an Elder and on the Hospitality Committee at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marshall; was a butcher at Brookshires since 1950 and loved golf, cooking and dominoes. Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the funeral home. Service will be held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 501 Indian Springs Road, Marshall, TX at 2:00 pm Monday, October 12, 2009 with Rev. William "Rusty" Rustenhaven officiating. Interment will follow at Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers will be Scott Ward, Stephen Ward, Jason Bidwell, Robbie Brock, Daren Hyde, Doyle Joyner, David Joyner, Stan Turrentine, and Todd Turrentine. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hospitality Committee, Domino Ministry, Sonshiners and his golf buddies.
