OBITUARY: Barbara Ann Ward From: Sullivan Funeral Homes March 22, 2010 Funeral services for Barbara A. Ward, 71, of Marshall, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Marshall, with Rev. William "Rusty" Rustenhaven officiating. Interment will follow at Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Sullivan Funeral Home. Mrs. Ward passed away Monday, March 22, 2010, in Marshall. She was born August 10, 1938, in Abilene, Texas, to Thomas and Carrie Turrentine. Mrs. Ward was very involved at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She helped form the Gladys Bryson Circle at Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She served as Stated Clerk of the Presbytery from 1975-1989. Mrs. Ward retired from J.C. Penny after many years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Shari Brock and husband Don; grandchildren, Robbie Brock and wife, Connie; Nicki Bidwell and husband, Jason; Scott Ward; Stephen Ward; Samantha Ward; great-grandchildren, Baylor Ward, Landon Brock, Rylee Payne; daughter-in-law, Suzie Ward; brother, James Turrentine and wife Sylvia; sister, Betty Hyde; and special friends, Peggy Spencer and Jenann Leslie. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Otis Ward, in October 2009; parents, Thomas and Carrie Turrentine; son, Kevin Ward; and grandson, Jeremy Brock. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews, Scott Ward, Stephen Ward, Jason Bidwell, Robbie Brock, Darren Hyde, Doyle Joyner, David Joyner, Stan Turrentine, and Todd Turrentine.
