Mr. Krizan, died at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, at his home. He was 50. Funeral services for John R. Krizan of West were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16 at the West Brethren Church, Rev. Gordon Hejl and Rev. F.J. Kostohryz officiated, with burial in the West Brethren Cemetery. Mr. Krizan was born and reared in West, having lived here all his life, except for seven years, which were spent in Axtell. He was a farmer and active member of the SPJST and RVOS lodges. He was serving his fourth term as director and secretary of the Farmers Gin Company in West, and his first year as Director of the McLennan County Farm bureau. He had been appraiser for RVOS, Lodge Krizan No. 6 and was named outstanding RVOS appraiser in Texas for three consecutive years – 1961, 1962, and 1963. He was an active member of SPJST Lodge No. 6, Cottonwood, and was serving as president of the lodge at the time of his death. He was an organizer for Lodge No. 6, ranking high in insurance sales for a number of years. He had also held various other offices in the lodge and was elected alternate director of SPJST District Three at the XIX General Convention held in Waco in June. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one son, Johnny Krizan, of West; one daughter, Jeanette Krizan of West; two brothers, Raymond Krizan of Dallas, and Henry Krizan also of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Annie Horak of West; three half-brothers, Rudolph Krizan, Walter Krizan and Herman Krizan, all of Waco; one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Murphy of Waco. Pallbearers were Antone Pavlas of Elk; Joseph Krizan of Garland; Clement Dulock of Irving; Dwain Pomykal of Denton; and Alvin Pavlas, Freddie Mechell, John Mynar and Jerome Kaska, all of West.
