John "Johnnie" R. Krizan, 66, of West, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near West. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, at the West Brethren Church. Burial will follow in West Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 28, at Aderhold Funeral Home. Johnnie was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Ruth (Mechell) and John Rudolph Krizan Sr. He attended school in West and was a 1966 graduate of West High School. He then received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Baylor University. Johnnie was a corporate clerk for the past 35 years at the United States Postal Service in Waco. Johnnie was also an accountant for Young Brothers Construction Company and managed the family farm and many rental properties. Johnnie was a member of the West Brethren Church. He was also a member of the SPJST Lodge No. 6 in Cottonwood, where he served as a past president, managed the hall and supervised the Westfest Booth for many years. Johnnie was sales representative for SPJST Lodge 6 Cottonwood for over 40 years and a Supreme Lodge District III Director since 1995. As a District III Director he represented SPJST in many ways by attending Lodge functions including, picnics, Christmas parties, and Lodge and District meetings where he made many presentations. Johnnie was recognized and honored numerous times for his sales achievement and today is responsible for multiple generations of families being members of SPJST. Johnnie enjoyed collecting historical items and documents and was an avid Texas Ranger, Dallas Cowboys and Baylor Bear fan. He especially loved planning family reunions, attending SPJST functions, serving as a director and devoted most of his time to taking care of his mother in her later years. He dearly loved his family and always enjoyed getting together for special family gatherings with all of them. Survivors include his sister, Jeanette Beseda and husband, Gary, of West; nephew, Matthew Beseda and wife, Melissa; niece, Leslie Beseda Nors and husband, Stephen; great-nephew, Lucas Beseda; great-niece, Avery Nors; and many other relatives and friends.
