Daughter of John and Kathryn (Korus) Yelli. On Oct. 14, 1941, she married Edwin Micek at the Catholic Church in Elyria. He preceded her in death in September 1976. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine, and a son, Eugene. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and a son-in-law, Louise Dexter of Grand Island and Jeanette and Alan Koelling of Ord, and a brother, Al Yelli of Elmhurst, Ill. Also surviving are four grandchildren and their spouses, Tammy and Joe Kuntz of Omaha, Bobbi and Rob Jones of Marysville, Wash., Carissa Koelling of Lincoln and Sierra Koelling of Tulsa, Okla.; and a great-granddaughter, Katie Kuntz of Omaha. Frances' parents died while she was an infant and she was raised by her foster parents, Andrew and Josephine (Dubas) Shotkoski. Frances grew up around Fort Hartsuff near Elyria, where she attended country school through the eighth grade, in the schoolhouse that is currently the Country Neighbor Restaurant. She attended Elyria School through the 10th grade and graduated from Ord High School in 1939. After their marriage, the Miceks lived on a farm west of Ord. Frances remained on the farm until February 1990, when she moved into Ord. Since August 2008, Frances has made her home at Rose Lane in Loup City. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elyria and then Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Frances enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. She was known to have candy and quarters for the children, and enjoyed sending greeting cards and giving gifts to others. She enjoyed her cats, watching the birds, polka music, garage sales and the color purple. While her husband was living, the couple enjoyed dancing. Frances was a good cook and will be remembered for her kolaches and dill pickles and the birthday cakes she made for her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Monte Dexter; three infant grandsons; her parents; her foster parents; three brothers, Carl and Don Yelli and Leo Jeruzal; two sisters, Mary Sliva and Laura Miller; and a foster sister, Gertrude Lech.
