Bio
Otto Meier, Sr., Dies at home in Birch Otto Meier, Sr., 92, passed away Friday at the home of his son August Meier, near Somerville. He came to America from Klein Gottschow, Branderburg, Germany, in September, 1854. In 1876, he married Miss Elizabeth Lilge and in 1890 he came, with his family, to Burleson County. Five children were born to this union. Two of whom died in infancy. Elizabeth preceded him in death in 1911. He was a devout member of Salem's Evangelical and Reformed Church at Birch. He is survived by two sons, Otto, Jr. and August; one daugther, Mrs. Ida Grabert; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
