Otto Meier is Stricken with Fatal Attack Otto Meier, 76, retired farmer, died Sunday morning at 2:20 o'clock at St Francis Hospital in Brenham after suffering a stroke two hours earlier. Born December 17, 1876 in Germany, he came to the US in 1891 and settled in Burleson County and has resided in the Birch community continously until 1951 whe he moved to Caldwell. He married Minnie Poehl january 3, 1901 and six children were born to this union. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary two years ago. He had served as a trustee for many years in the Lutheran church at Birch where he had been a member 52 years. He was endowed with a pleasing personality and was always happy to be with his loved ones and many friends of whom he liked to talk and relate the old happenings of yesteryears. He had been failing health for the past four years and about 12:30 a.m. Sunday he become critically ill and was taken to the hospital where he passed away only a few hours later.
