HOULKA – James H. Hardin, age 72, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 1995 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Mar 4, 1923. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army Air Corps. Completing his Army service, he then attended the University of Mississippi and later took a position as the manager Indianapolis Glove Factory in Houlka. Mr. Hardin was responsible for expanding the glove factory to two additional locations in Mississippi and was subsequently named as the manager for Mississippi operations. He retired from the glove business in 1982. He was a member and deacon of Houlka First Baptist Church and was a mason. Services were held Sunday, Sept. 3 at First Baptist Church Houlka with the Rev. Gary Blair officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka. Houlka Funeral was in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Beannice Box Hardin of Houlka; two sons and one daughter, James R. Hardin of Centerville, VA, Frank H. Hardin of Pontotoc and Cathy Moss of Houlka. Survivors include grandchildren, Jim Hardin, Jr., Leslie Hardin, Steve Hardin, Kimberly Hardin and Jonathan Moss. Brothers and sisters are Z. K. Hardin of Calhoun City, Nora Beadle of Jackson and Mary Ellen White of Eupora. Pallbearers were Allen Washington, Joe Box, Michael Box, Michael Box, Tommy Washington, Robert Box and David Hardin.
