Bio

I've been researching this family for years. If you are related, I'd really like to hear from you. CW packet on microfilm for this Hezikiah Oney. Some of the info given on microfilm is a copy of the Certificate of Disability for Discharge was his age of 51 years, birth place as Lincoln county, Tn. He was 6'2" tall with light colored hair, fair complection and blue eyes, a farmer by occupation. He enlisted in the Texas infantry, in Jefferson, Tx. April 12, 1862 and signed on for three years. The Certificate of Disability for Discharge was dated October 24, 1862. Hezikiah Oney was a private. It said he was afflicted with rheumatism and unable to perform his duties. I can make out Little Rock, Arkansas on one page but cannot read if that is where he was located or only where he was received his discharge papers. I can't believe Hezikiah Oney enlisted at the age he was, unless it was for financial reasons, he was already nearing his '50's and was released due to rheumatism and unable to perform his duties at age 51 about 6 months later. Hezikiah was married to a first wife, name unknown, and they had several children. After her death, he married Nancy M. Oney, much younger than himself, and they had one daughter, Elizabeth, Elizabeth married Andy Dickinson. Nancy married J.A. Starr before 1880 after the death of Hezikiah. I believe this MAY be the same Hesekiah Oney as the one listed in the 1850 Harrison County Texas census with a wife with initials of "L", children listed as W., H., J., M., W., H., L., and E.
