Arlene S. Vidlak ARLENE S. VIDLAK NEWPORT NEWS – Arlene Stella Sindelar Vidlak, 68, died Saturday, November 4, in Mary Immaculate Hospital. A native of Stanton County, Nebraska, Mrs. Vidlak was a home maker. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. She attended the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska. Survivors include her husband, Col. Frank J. Vidlak, one daughter, Sandy Vidlak-Masura of Winston Salem, North Carolina, three sons, Frank E. Vidlak of Omaha, Michael B. Vidlak of College Station, Texas, and John E. Vidlak of Winston-Salem, and seven, grandchildren. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jerome Catholic Church by the Rev. Paul Gaughan. Burial will be on Thursday in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Umphlett Funeral Home. A wake will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
