Pueblo Chieftain August 28, 2003 Lile A. Shelton, 81, of Pueblo, passed away Aug. 27, 2003. Lile was born on Nov. 29, 1921, in Larkspur, Colo., to the union of Lile A. Sr. and Cynthia B. Warford Shelton who preceded him along with his sister, Aline Oberheide. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Shelton, of the family home; son, Donald (Claudia); grandson, Michael; granddaughter, Tracy, all of Longmont, Colo.; son, Mark (Roberta) of Pueblo; granddaughter, Ginger (Kris) Riemann; great-granddaughter, Sydney Riemann of Gulfport, Miss.; sister, Bea Ashbrook of Pueblo; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Lile served in the Army Air Force during WWII from December 1942 to January 1946. He retired from the Pueblo Army Depot in 1980 as a quality control inspector. Since his retirement, he has fulfilled a lifetime ambition of traveling with his wife to 49 states, and nine Provinces of Canada. Lile was a life member of both the Pueblo BPOE Lodge No. 90, and the Eagles Aerie No. 145, both of Pueblo. Viewing, 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and Friday until service time at Imperial Funeral Home. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Friday, Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team. In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made to the Pueblo BPOE Lodge No. 90 Endowment Fund in his memory.
