Son of Ernest and Maggie (Rohweder) Thesenvitz. He married Theodora Schumann on Feb. 21, 1940, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife of Grand Island; a daughter, Sharlyn Burling of Aurora; and a son, Wayne Thesenvitz of Wood River. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Teresa and Joe Grabowski of Cairo, Scott and Lori Thesenvitz of Wood River, Jenni Roberts of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Gary Thesenvitz and special friend, Mikaeleh Schultz, of Wood River; and six great-granddaughters. Mr. Thesenvitz grew up and received his education in Hall County, where he farmed all his life. The Thesenvitzes made their home on a farm near Wood River, where he farmed. They moved into Wood River in 1977. On Feb. 21 of this year, the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wood River and the Platt-Duetsche Society of Grand Island. He served on the Wood River Fair Board and the Rural Fire Department. He enjoyed playing cards, raising his livestock, fishing, camping, and especially doing things with his family. He could also fix just about anything. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mabel and Hazel; and four brothers, Oscar, Lewis, Max and Raymond.
