She graduated from Sweetwater Newman High School in 1937 and worked for the Sweetwater Credit Bureau. Mary married Carrell Bert Jones in Sweetwater on March 14, 1941. They had four children, all born in Sweetwater. They moved first to Anson then to Kermit in 1951. She worked for several Winkler County attorneys and for Dr. Cecil Robinson before retiring as Administrative Assistant to the Winkler County Judge.
