Bio

Rosalie Mary Roessler Green, 85, of Westphalia, Texas, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Scott & White Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia with the Rev. Walter Dhanwar officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. Rosary will be recited Friday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rosalie was born in Westphalia, Texas, to the late Ben and Bertha Straten Roessler. She attended school at Westphalia and graduated from high school in Rosebud. On June 14, 1944, she married Willis Green in Westphalia. Rosalie worked at Scott & White for 22 years in the laundry department and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation and Altar Society in Westphalia. Rosalie was a faithful servant of God, humble and caring. She enjoyed baking, gardening, being outdoors, canning vegetables, and was always observant of the weather and its changes. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, Marvin "Butch" Green and wife, Ann, of Robinson, and Kenneth Green and wife, Patsy, of Westphalia; daughter, Denise Tongate and husband, Mark, of Buckholts, Texas; grandsons, Spencer Green, of Granger, Keith Green, of Austin, Kevin Green, of Miami, Fla. and step-grandson, Gary Young and wife, Ladonna, of Robinson,; granddaughters, Lisa Dach and husband, Shawn, of Westphalia, and Ashley Tongate, of San Marcos; and great-grandchildren, Kacey, Lane and Maddie Dach, and Clayton and Sara Green.
