Anchorage Daily News August 11, 1999 Longtime Kenai resident Steven Ray Williams, 37, died of injuries sustained in an auto accident Aug. 7, 1999, at Mile 22 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. A memorial service was at Peninsula Memorial Chapels in Kenai. Officiating was the Rev. Brad Casen. Internment was at the McGahan Cemetery in Nikiski. A gathering for family and friends followed at the Moose Lodge in Kenai. Mr. Williams was born Oct. 27, 1961, to Gloria and Raymond Williams in Soldotna. He lived in Kenai most of his life, residing in Yakima, Wash., for the last 12 years. He was working for Alaska Salmon Purchasers. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He loved to sing karaoke and won several competitions. His family said: ''Steven was always a devoted and loving father, and will be greatly missed.'' Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Williams. He is survived by the mother of his children, Liz Heard of Yakima; sons, Aaron, David and Jacob Williams, all of Yakima; fiance, Cory Layman of Yakima; mother and step-father, Gloria and Ed Ferguson of Nikiski; sisters and brother-in-laws, Laurie and Kelly Bookey, Denise and Bill Anderson, Marlene and David Wise, all of Kenai, Susan and Mark Passe of Sumas, Wash.; brothers and sister-in-laws, Mark and Sarah Williams of Bellingham, Wash., Kevin and Debbie Williams of Spokane, Wash.; extended family members, Don and Linda Groleski and their children, Ske, Coleen, Nadine, Joe and Natalie; nine nephews and two great-nephews; 13 nieces and two great-nieces; and close friends, Mark Powell and Ken Cole, both of Kenai. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to National Bank of Alaska, Kenai Branch, P.O. Box 1969 Kenai, 99611 Funeral arrangements made by Peninsula Memorial Chapels .
