Aunt Ione was born in the Lancaster, Temperance Hall Area (Cove Hollow) near Smithville Tn. To Roy Gillom "Gil" Bates & Bertha (Fitts) Bates. She had 2 sisters. Clarene (Bates) Beaty, & Fannie Nell (Bates) Davis. Nell & her husband Ed Davis are also buried at Roselawn Gardens. Ione was married & divorced from Homer Bates. Ione had 7 daughters with Homer. Reba Lois (Bates), Ann (Bates) Yarbrough, Linda Fay (Bates), Carolyn (Bates), Sandra Lynn (Bates), Dixie Lee (Bates & Herndon), and Jackie (Bates & Herndon). At the time of her death, Ione had numerous grand & great grandchildren. I will attempt to name as many as I can per Ione's daughters. Lois: Tammy Haney, Donnie Haney, & Jeanine Catalano. Ann: Kevin Yarbrough & Walter "Bubba" Yarbrough. Linda: Kathy Ralston, Jimmy Ralston, & Rebecca Ralston. Carolyn: Vickie Siksnius, Regina Siksnius, & Cindy Siksnius. Sandra: Timmy Durham, ? Boy, & 2 girls with the last name of "Slack". Dixie: she had at least 1 son & maybe other children. Jackie: I believe Jackie had several children.
