Nell was born in the Lancaster, Temperance Hall Area near Smithville Tn. To Roy Gillom "Gil" Bates & Bertha (Fitts) Bates. She had (2) older sisters. Clarene (Bates) Beaty, & Ione Martin (Bates) Bates. Nell's sister Ione is also buried at Roselawn Gardens. Nell is buried by her husband Martin Edward "Ed" Davis Sr. They were married in 1951. After Ed's death in 1970, Nell never remarried. She lived almost 31 years after Ed had passed. Nell & Ed had (3) children. Brenda Joyce (Davis) Young. Martin Edward "Marty" Davis Jr. & Markle Dwayne Davis. At the time of her death, Nell had (7) grandchildren & 1 great grandson. Grandchildren: Paul H. "Butch" Young, Jessica (Young) Murphy, Charles Edward Young, Ryan Martin Davis, Dustin Caleb Davis, Micaela Denise Davis, & Stephanie ?? Great grandchildren: Trey Young, Jake Murphy, Ally Murphy, Leah Young, Ella Grace Baldwin, Sutton Marie Davis, Michael Ryan Davis, Deacon Ford Davis, and Andy Young. Nell passed away at St. Thomas Hosptal in Nashville, Tennessee after suffering a Heart Attach 1-week earlier, just after having surgery.
