Daughter of Frank and Emma Penskofer, the youngest of nine children. She was raised by an aunt and uncle when her mother died of blood poisoning 2 weeks after her birth. Emma grew up in Nebraska. After her marriage they lived in Richfield, Nebraska until Oct. 1940 when they moved to Detroit, Mich. After their retirement they moved to Hollywood, Florida. Married May 21, 1931 to Lloyd Tilman Reis. No children. Siblings: Frank, George, Celia, Kathryn, Amelia & Mildred. Emma helped raise several of her nephews of her sisters, they were very close to them all of their lives. She was a fun loving gal, loved to play cards and never backed down from a good discussion! They always loved to travel and made sure to come back to Nebraska and visit with the relatives here. Em especially loved the fresh fruit and garden produce of the family. Requested elderberry dumplings as one of her favorites. CALLED HOME TO HEAVEN (ST. MARK'S LUTHERAN CHURCH) Emma Reis died about 10:00 this morning (Friday). Arrangements with the Hunter Funeral Home were still pending. Details of the funeral service will be announced in both services today. Emma was a courageous Christian. She fought a bitter foe in her bout with cancer until the dear Lord relieved her and took her home to heaven. Our sincere sympathy to Lloyd, Emma's beloved husband, and all relatives and friends who were grieved by her passing.
