George was born in Henry County, Tennessee and married Tennie America (Tennessee) Ross on June 28, 1878. They lived in Tennessee and had 5 children before moving to Hopkins County, Texas and raised their family. Their children were Serena (Kate) Elizabeth (Evans)Cotton, Georgia Ann Anderson, B. Floyd Milton, Ona Blanche Shell, Margaret (Maggie) Toles, James Franklin Milton, Ross Cleveland Milton, Minnie Milton, Hubert T. Milton, John David Milton. George was the son of John and Anna Milton from Virginia.
