Schuyler – June 30 (Special) – Mrs. Frank W. Prokes, 78, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Columbus at 1 2.m. Friday. She had been a patient there for the past three weeks. The body lay in state at the Pideatix Chapel until 2:30 Sunday afternoon when services were held. The Rev. Keith Sackett, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiated. The burial was in Schuyler cemetery. Pall bearers were Joseph M. Rogers, John A Prokes, Miles Sobolik, Lumir Ehernberger, Joseph Vavre and Lumir Ortadovsky. As Mary Agnes Sobolik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sobolik, she was born Jan. 3, 1869, at Cedar Rapids Ia. When she was ten years old, she came with her parents to a farm in Butler County. In 1885, the family moved to Schuyler. On June 8, 1888, she married Frank W. Prokes at Schuyler. He died Sept. 30, 1939. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J. F. Lauvetz of Wahoo and Miss Syvia Prokes of Schuyler; two grandchildren, Dr. F. J. Lauvetz of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Edward Hart of Philadelphia, Pa.; two great grandchildren, Tommie and Bobbie Lauvitz of Denver; and two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Bruner of Bruno, and Mrs. Lewis Pospishal of David City.
